One Nigerian Boy African Fashion & Style Hub Thu, 29 Jan 2015 10:12:07 +0000 en-US hourly 1 You And Your Human Hair Wigs How To Take Care Of Them Mon, 05 Jan 2015 20:25:51 +0000 Male Pattern Baldness Treatment

When you love your hair but wish it was just a little longer, you don’t need to despair. For example, if you think it would be fun for the entire wedding party to wear rainbow wigs throughout the reception, you’ll need the cooperation of your bridesmaids and groomsmen in order to pull it off.

No one wants to lose their hair, nor do most women like to talk about it. This challenge is especially physically and mentally upsetting for women who want to maintain a beautiful youthful appearance.

The human hair in this wig usually appears as if it is growing out of your scalp and it is equally distributed there which you can comb it. Some manufacturers now are trying to make their lace front wigs inexpensive so that Cheap Pre-Bonded Extensions 2015 most of us who really need it can afford to buy.

What I can tell you is that most african american women do not have the luxury of switching up styles as often as celebrities do and in most cases their hair is not able to stay healthy and withstand the heat that it requires to have these styles.

On Monday, November 10 at 9 p.m. EST, Pantene, Maite, Celebrity Hairstylist Gabriel Samra and Latina Mom Bloggers will host a bilingual Beautiful Lengths Twitter Party to discuss in detail all the hair donation requirements, tips on how to grow healthy hair, make the cut and submit the donation.

    Emmy Collins Spring Summer 15 ‘Timeless’ Collection Tue, 13 May 2014 14:06:24 +0000 Emmy Collins SS15 (6)

The Exclusive Emmy Collins Style Weekend took place at the Miliki Private Members Club VI, Lagos on the 27th of April 2014. This was an opportunity for the label to showcase its latest collection tagged “timeless” to a discerning audience. The designer’s aesthetic is present in this collection with wide collars and long hems all crafted with care and attention to detail. The silhouette is slim/fitted and personally the highest points for me is the suiting. Absolutely fantastic.

“I wouldn’t design a garment that a client would invest a king’s ransom on and then discard only a few months after simply because it has gone out of trend”

    R.Newbold Launches EXCLUSIVELY ON GOODHOOD Tue, 13 May 2014 13:07:57 +0000 R.Newbold (3)

In 1885 Robert Brewster Newbold founded a workwear factory and shop in Derby. By 1898 it had expanded, including the build of a factory called “The Shaftesbury Works” and this became the go-to-place for three piece suits, overalls, miners’ wear, military and emergency service uniforms. Later, respected and admired British designer Paul Smith took over R.Newbold in 1991, but it sadly disappeared from the UK shortly after and instead gained a following in Japan. As so many things do, R.Newbold became massively more successful there than in the UK.
However Goodhood made it their quest to re-establish this mountaineering/workwear/outerwear look as not only acceptable but aspirational on the UK streets once again. This occurred with the launch of a collaborative, bi-annual range, which was released for several seasons. However, after a short break, R.Newbold and Goodhood have rejoined forces to celebrate 20 years of the R.Newbold brand, and have together, created possibly their best capsule collection yet.
This highly anticipated 20th Anniversary Collection will launch today in the London Goodhood store and online, and will be the only UK stockist for this exquisite range. Featuring a selection of this season’s must-have staples such as jersey shorts, short sleeved shirts, graphic tees and bucket hats; the extensive collection incorporates some an old Goodhood favourites namely the polka dot and oversized american sportswear graphics.

My hat’s from Major (cheapskate really lol…like £40) and yeah… that’s my outfit really.

Matchesfashion: Spotlight on Agi & Sam Thu, 08 May 2014 15:13:43 +0000 spotlight on agi and sam by matches fashion

When you first encounter Agi & Sam (above left to right), you could be forgiven for thinking they have known each other for ever – even their Twitter avatar is of the pair as children superimposed together – however their partnership isn’t that older than their fledgling brand, which launched in 2011. But such is their rising notoriety on the London Collections: Men schedule that they now count none other than Sir Paul Smith as a mentor. In fact, Smith’s own book You Can Find Inspiration In Everything is a title that is equally well applied to the Agi & Sam design philosophy; their SS14 collection is inspired by the upholstery featured on London bus seats. Short shorts are not for everybody but the right person with the right vibe would certainly pull off these ss14 Carlyle shorts from Ivorian label Laurenceairline. Ethiopia Skate Founder 16 yr Old Abenezer Temesgen speaks to ONB Sun, 04 May 2014 14:28:03 +0000 Ethiopia Skate

16 year old Abenezer Temesgen should be a role model to loads of other African teenagers across the continent or in the disapora. His story is somewhat similar to the cliche rags to the riches ones you’ve heard but he’s is quite unique. He was born and grew up in the Ghetto in Addis Ababa and self taught himself English. Although he now lives in Germany with his father and brother, growing up in the ghetto with its challenges and battles made him seek a medium of escape which was skateboarding. 2 years on, he’s co founded an organisation known as Ethiopia Skate and has taught 25 kids from the streets how to skate, giving them hope and a community. We caught up with the young visionary for a chat -

How did you get inspired to set up Ethiopia Skate?

A lot of people started projects like ours, and I’ve been working with them for a long time, but I haven’t seen them make any change to the situation in Ethiopia. So I thought to do it myself. I come from the ghetto myself and know hard life like anybody there, but those people who started the other projects just did it for money. They raised $25.000 to build a skatepark, whilst I was working on one of these earlier projects but they just took it and went back to Australia, without the kids seeing a penny of what has been donated for.

How have you been able to raise money for the project and how has this money been expended?

We had an Indiegogo campaign and raised some money, we spent that on building some ramps, kickboxes and rails, and to hold skate competitions and of course to buy clothes and equipment for the kids. For donations we plan to open a PayPal account for the project, but first we need to get approval of the Ethiopian government.

What are your long term goals for Ethiopia Skate?

It’s all about skateboarding and fun for the kids, but most importantly, it’s about changing the situation and building a future for the kids. My biggest dream is to build the first real skatepark in Ethiopia, with a school right next to it, in order to combine fun with education.
