I recently worked with Chipo Chung on the set of an interesting African feature film Labalaba set in the 1960′s. Chipo Chung (pictured above) is wearing a dress from London based Ghanaian Label Ohema Ohene. Labalaba, an adaptation of Madame Butterfly, is a beautiful tragic slove story set between different cultures and religions of Nigeria. Atikah, a Muslim girl, falls madly in love with Southerner Col. Fashola, whilst he falls in lust with her. She rejects her family and religion to become one with her husband only to find herself destitute, fighting desperately to save a love that was never really there.
