The collection effortlessly resonates “luxury chic“; an essence not easily articulated in men’s footwear design. The “nightlife” theme comes through as the use of such rich and luxurious materials as patent, suede and nubuck was employed in pitch black, tan brown and coffee brown respectively. Such unique features of the collection includes sharp and decisive cuts, the intelligent fusion of the different materials such as suede and patent, black and brown patent, and the sparse use of gold detailing. Such details as hand-stitching, punching and the unique lace-hole style gave the collection that fine artisanal touch synonymous with the Shem Paronelli brand. More Image after the jump.
This collection is limited edition; only one shoe is made for each design and no two shoes are exactly the same. They are handcrafted in Africa by the designer and his team of dedicated master craftsmen.
“The moment we got the mail asking to show our collection at the Martini sponsored event in support of the growth of Menswear industry in Nigeria, i thought it was something worthy of being a part of. And notwithstanding that we were busy working on the Spring/Summer collection as our debut at the time we had to pause and start work on a holiday collection. The first idea that came to me for the collection was “Nightlife and Glamor”. i was thinking; the fun of being out all night, partying with family and friends during the holiday. And it made a lot of sense”-Mr Shem, designer and Creative director of the brand.
