Coming from a mixed heritage of half Saint Lucian and half English Kezia Frederick decided to base her final BA project on ‘Multicultural London’. She took lots of photographs of what people wore around London and the way in which someone dressed could reflect a ‘dual heritage’. She then focused her research on photographs she had taken of Nigerian women at church, with their traditional dresses and the juxtaposition of the ‘long black British coat’. For her this beautifully captured the multicultural society in which we live in. From this research she created a 6 piece collection, creating prints using silk screen printing.
