The glamorous elite gathered at the Duchess Fashion store at Ajose Adeogun, Victoria Island Lagos on the 15th of May 2011 for a day of partying and shopping to get a taste of the new season collection from Daniella Issa Helayel, creative designer of Britain based label- ISSA. ISSA has been worn by celebrities including Kate-Duchess of Cambridge, Madonna, Scarlett Johansson, Eva Mendes, Kelly Rowland, Naomi Campbell, Nicole Richie, Alexandra Burke and Amber Rose.

Tope Adeboye CEO of Duchess, recognises the gap in the market as there are no direct retailers in Nigeria that stock high-fashion pieces from international design labels, hence the has been around since 2007 and helps to bridge the gap by providing any style savvy woman pieces from different parts of the world at affordable prices, not any more expensive than what you will buy from fashion retailers in the known fashion capitals of New York, London, Milan and Paris.

This fashion celebration culminated in a shopping party with canapés, finger licking foods and cupcakes where ardent fashion followers partied for hour’s non-stop to DJ sets from DJ Delux while drinking classic mocktails. This marks the beginning of a series of initiative started by Adeboye to put Nigeria on the fashion map.
