Self portrait

20 year old Michael Adeyeye was born in London to Nigerian parents and has spent most part of his life there. He’s the typical jack of all trade but king of all as his job specification includes Choreography, Photography, Graphic design, Photo retouching, Art editing, Film/music video Directing, VFX effects editing, 2D/3D Motion graphics. He has worked with West Africa’s next top model, Adebayo Jones, Jay Sean, Chipmunk, Tim Westwood, John Utaka (football player), Adam Deacon (Actor) and others. You might also have seen his work published in FAB magazine, Black Hair Magazine and several blogs online.

My advice for people starting is “use the internet” it’s free knowledge and set high targets, like when I started, I used to look at photographers like Arron Dunworth, Annie Liebovitz, Gill Greenberg, David Hill etc and I always compared my pictures to theirs to see if it looked like it had the same quality’.

His photography has distinctiveness to it with its arty retouching style and One Nigerian Boy tips him as one of the photographers you will hear a lot more about and grow to love.

The ‘Behind the Lens‘ series aims to showcase African talents in Photography you would grow to love.
